Yesterday I was driving home from work and noticed the vacumm on the boost gauge was higher than normal (about 10in/hg) at idle. But, when I got home it returned to normal (18in/hg).

However, this morning I go to start the car and hear a bunch of strange noises from the engine after it started. I turned off the engine, then try to start it again. This time it only cranks but never starts.

I've checked for spark (none), and compression tested all cylinders (zero across the board). Try switching ECU (no difference). Any suggestions before I tear down the engine?

I see no relationship to boost gauge readings and what seems like a broken timing belt and a whole mess of bent valves. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Take the oil fill cap off the valve cover, have someone crank the engine while you look for any valve or cam movement.

If the CAS is not rotating with the camshaft you will have no spark.

good luck,
GTM
