sup guys, i just did a pressure test on my coolant system and my lower radiator hose has a hole. I came close to nearly driving with no coolant in the car. I was wondering what type of coolant would be best to use and any additives. I was thinking of just water and get some redline water wetter. If anyone can leave any info on what type of coolant and additives they use and how they work for you, i'd really appreciate it. thanks Joel

Prestone, even if it's in a Wal*Mart bottle. When you do it, use a half- gallon of antifreeze and fill the rest with distilled water from the grocery store. It's okay to use a gallon of the "premix" crap if you like, I just find it stupid to buy water at that price. Some seem to think they have good luck with water wetter, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't hurt anything. Prestone has all the additives you need in a cooling system, primarily anticorrosion, antielectrolysis, and a water pump seal lube and conditioner.

Just stick with normal old green stuff, and catch all the drained coolant and take it to a garage or parts shop that'll keep it away from pets.

More than 30% begins to reduce cooling abilities for the tradeoff of a greater freezing resistance. If you live in snow, go with the 50%. In Sandy Eggo, I'd stay with 30%.
