I just had the head gasket changed on my car and they did a compression test they said it was 178 on #1----100 on #2---110 on #3
and 180 on #4 that dosent sound right stock is only 178 he said he tried it 3 times to see if it was right . Plus there is a black light grey smoke coming out my exhaust only when I let off the accelerater after wot. I thought that smoke was because my head gasket was going but now its a little worse. My car has barrely any mods filter, boost rasied to 16,gutted cat, back section exhaust, walbro 255, turbo xs type h blow off valve, Oh and a 40 shot of nos which has only been used 6 times total. Any ideas about the compression or the smoke I need the car to last till next spring so I will have enough to buy a magnus block and head.

Thanks AJ

That compression is NOT good... deffinitly something to look out for.. The black smoke is more than likely fuel smoke - you're probably running rich... Have you ran a datalogger to see what's it's doing?? Good Luck..:thumb:

Ya ain't gonna make next spring. The head has to come back off unless someone bent valves. (and it still will need to be pulled) It needs to be checked for flat as does the block. It also needs to be checked for cracks and leaks. In all probability this wasn't done when you had the head gasket done. If _you_ specified to change the head gasket only and the job went south then you will have to pay again, if they said you only need a head gasket then the job is on them except for the machine shop work which it sounds like you needed to begin with. You should also install head studs instead of bolts since you want to play you got to pay.

Cheers,
GTM
