i have a 97 eclipse spyder turbo thats auto, my question is that the other day when i was about half way to work i started to notice that little by little my car just lost all pep and was slower then a turttle. when i punched on it the revs went up and the car went nowere untill about 4500rpm then it would move slow as ####. i dont think its a boost leak because i have a brand new t25 from the factory with about 4000miles on it and the engine only has 53000miles on it and is 100% stock. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a datalogger?

And what does having a brand new t25 have to do with having boost leaks??? (nothing, in case you were unsure :D )

check for boost leaks...(ie make a tester if you dont have one)
pull your plugs, look for signs of oil, indicating worn rings...
check compression...

What mods are on your car?

Reset your ECU via taking off the negative battery terminal and putting it back on after five minutes.

Examine all hoses/vacuum lines.

guys please help i cheaked everything from boostleaks to replacing every single hoses to flushing the trans and replacing the trany mounts, but no luck please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also their is a buring smell and my car si loosing oil and some grey smoke is coming out of my exhaust

repeat: please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it revs up but the car doesn't go it's a transmission problem. I haven't owned an automatic in years but it could be the torque converter. I'd take it to a transmission shop.

thanx 4 the diagram jeff u were right i did miss a hose and my car is boosting sronger then before thax alot apprechiate it

which hose was it?

I thought you said you checked for boost leaks? A hose leak that hurt performance is usually from lost boost...

you're welcome dude:thumb: , hah thats why we're all here, good to see that that was the problem, also try using compressed air when pressure testing, i tried using a bike pump and could barely find it, an air compressor i found mine in a second, you got lucky, mines my intake manifold gasket

The bolts on the bottom of the intake manifold will be the toughest part, it helps to have small hands. You may need to get them from underneath the car. And to get them from underneath, you will most likely need to remove a few things...

Also, my bolts were in VERY tight, and since I had to use small tools to fit in there, it was hard to remove them. Wrap your wrench in a shop rag or something because if they are stuck, you probably wont get them bare handed. I couldnt get them out with my bare hands (body like subconciously holds back some of your strength if its causing pain to push harder), once I put the rag on the wrench, I was able to break it free...

But hey, yours might not be in so tight!

Oh yeah, and dont forget to put some of that red sealer spray on the gasket...

have fun man i did that when i first got my car and it was a pain in the a** it took me 4ever 2 do that expecilly trying to crack the bolts on the bottem of the intakemanifold

have fun:D
