Okay this all started about 2 weeks ago. One day i went to start my car and i would put the key in the ignition and turn and it would only start half way and then die. If i tried it the 2nd or 3rd time it would start so i went and got it checked out. The machanic said the battery lines were loose so he tightened them and for about a week the car worked fine wiht no problems. Now today i niticed this morning that when i started my car the RPMs would be the normal when it started and then they would quickly drop and the car would make a sputtering sound like it was gonna die but then the RPMS would go back up. I didnt think anything of it untill about an hour ago when i tried to get out of a parking lot. I tried starting my car and of course the same problem was happening once again from the first time (the car tried to start but then die) I dont know what it could be! I was there about an hour and then finally i tired it one last time and then it started so i just drove it staright home...Please is anyone knows how to fix this or wat it is please respond! thanks!

It is probably the terminals that attach to your battery coming loose. I have the same problem on my 95 Eclipse N/T. Whenever it doesnt start, i get out and give the positive terminal a good solid hit with my hand. Usually it works. You might try replacing them with newer ones.

have u try to clean them first i had the same problem...even cut back some of the wire and see if it has acid on the wires....if so clean them..

if you know how to do wokr on your own car do these 4 things....Maybe just 3

1) New battery (Maybe)
2) Clean + - terminals on batery if not getting a new one
3) Cut back your wires that go to the terminals
4) Put gold plated connecters to your terminals. that should get rid of any resistance.
