Car shakes Please help

symptoms.....car shakes on take off unless I rev over 2000. Does this in reverse and first gear. Some shake when down shifting into 2nd. At take off the "shake" can be as bad af a slamming as if you poped the clutch and quickly pressed it again....repetadly. the clutch doesn't slip under high rev power......not even in 1st gear.



What I have done.

New clutch and pressure plate (throw out bearing)
new moter mounts
resurfaced the flywheel friction surface.


After puting in the new clutch, the problem went away for about 3 months. now it is back.

Anyoneave any clue??

My car does the same thing. The 2600 chatters a lot, but a small sacrafice for not slipping in my awd.

Is it a stronger pressure plate?

If anything, rev to 2k or higher when driving. My friend revs to like 2.5k or 3k in 1st. I dont like to, but the clutch doesnt chatter.

Maybe you have an oil leak from the rear seal of the engine? The problem went away because you had a new clean surface in there. Now the oil has had time to come back?

check out the plugs, wires, coil pack, etc. i had a problem similar to this with my saturn a little while ago. until 2k it would stutter, jerk, and just be crappy overall. and almost everytime it would downshift, it would do the same thing. hope this helps

I had considered the possibility of oil on the surface but there would be oil residue in the housing an dthere isn't.

I had the flywheel resurfaced when the clutch was installed and the problem went away. Then slowly started again.

I think the flywheel is warped. Gonna try that and while I am in there see if I notice anything else.

I have 4 new moter mounts in the car (1 week old now) and that didn't help.

I pulled the tranny last night. The flywheel and pressure plate both have a heat mark but only half way aroung and in the same spot.

Deffinatly warped!

New flywheel on order and I think I can get the clutch /pressure plate warranteed.

I don't think there is anything left on this car I havent had appart.
