ecu differences?

ok im in need of a new ecu i believe

what ecu's are interchangable, this is what i believe i know so far

90 has to be a 90
91 to 94 are interchangable
5spd and auto are different
fwd and awd are the same

i just replaced my cam sensor and power transistor, the coilpack and plugs/wires are fine, not getting spark, ecu is the only thing left, it just turns over and over

the listing at http://www.autoexp.com/pdf/ae/AE_Mitsubishi_Catalog.pdf show a different part number for each variant of these vehicles, and my factory service manual lists 4 possible ECU's for 1992

part numbers dont mean jack, they can slap a different part number on the same thing 5 times
