I have been noticing my check engine light comming on and off at times. So I checked for the code the ECU was sending and it was code 14(L-S-S-S-S). The maunal states that it is the Throttle Position Sensor. Now I would figure that the TPS would need to be replaced. SO I called the dealer and the gave me a price of $160. I wanted to know is there any other problem there could be rather than th TPS is broken, like the throttle needs cleaning or something. If you have any Idea I can try or what it could be instead off a broken TPS please let me know. Thank you.

Perhaps the TPS is out of adjustment. Hook a logger up to it and make it reads 10. 10 is the setting for off/idle. Otherwise, I'd say find one on Ebay or something like that.

Loosen the two screws on it, and turn it. The TPS is located on the intake manifold right where the throttle body is. It's a black plastic thing, with a plug on it. However, if you don't know what it is, I'd say don't touch it unless you know what you're doing. Not to be an ass about it. I just don't want to see you hurt the car.

Alright I see it. Once you take out the screws all you have to do is turn it to the right position then srew it back in? But how would you know if its in the right position?
