Has anyone ever FIXED this code? This is the code my ECU is throwing..

I run a search and people say they have the same problem, and people list possible solutions but thats where the thread ends. I need help to pass emissions and I dont feel like spending alot of $$$$ buying random, usless parts attempting to fix my EGR Flow.

I currently have the 1g TB and Im not sure if I have the vac lines hooked up correctly. I currently have it hooked up like RRE explains on their website, and I've also tried other methods based off the RRE's information. Do any of you have any tips and tricks? Or remedies that have worked for you?

Thanks Guys.

I got that code twice so far when I made a EGR blockoff for my 2G not to long ago. Maybe just get a new/used EGR valve. Or ask one of the other Reno-dsm'ers if you can borrow theirs to see if that fixes it and just smog it with theirs on. Then after you pass, block it off hehe.

Since when did you get a 1g AWD :p

Hmm.. a new EGR huh? Do you know if a 1g egr valve will fit a 2g? I had it blocked off.. thought that was the issue, but I unblocked it and its still on.

Thanks for the help manny but I think it has something to do with the way my vac lines are setup on my 1g TB.

Can ANYONE on DSMtuners please help me out with this?

Thanks again manny.

Here is some info I found on DSMT@LK that might help:

Code P0400 – is listed as Exhaust gas recirculation flow malfunction. Probable causes are:
- EGR valve does not open
- EGR control vacuum is too low
- Open or shorted EGR solenoid circuit, or loose connector
- Manifold differential pressure sensor failed
- Engine control module failed.

Dunno if that helps much. After taking out the blockoff, did u reset the ECU? On my 95, when I had to replace the cat because of a CEL, the CEL light stayed on after i replaced it with a highflow and wouldn't turn off until i disconnected the battery to reset the ECU. Same thing with my bad crank sensor...CEL light was on after I replaced it until reseting. And I believe the EGR is the same as a 1G. I have an extra one if you need LOL. Hope you figure it out.

The 1g I got for a deal I couldn't pass up...thats why I'm broke with no mods now anytime soon heh.

Yeah, see - thats what all the threads are about. They are the possible solutions/problems. No one ever lists any remedies. :p And yes, I have reset my ECU.

I think its just me and you manny in this large, empty, DSM world..

Damn.. with the purchase of your 1g our race will never happen :D :p :thumb:

ahhh i have the code too , i dunno started few weeks ago and wont go away, i think this is making my car run pig rich i dunno, but my gas mileage now sucks, i checked the vac lines going to the EGR and one of the two vac lines ported off the back of the intake mani has no vac what so ever and the other has perfect strong vacuum, i know a total of the 3 vac lines run to the EGR, maybe im wrong but im throwing a code P0400 also thanx john
