OK, I have a 92 plymouth laser, mods hallmand mbc. home depot intake, grounding kit, and some guages. ok basically on the stock fuel systme Ive had my boost set at about 13-15lbs and its stayed there for a while up until last month. I was wrapping my charge pipes with insulation to try and keep some engine heat off of them. So i took my car for a couple of pulls. and I noticed that i was boosting 20lbs.. I pulled my boost guage out of my pillar and noticed I had a couple of kinks in it so it could've been higher than 20lbs. and when i had it set a 13-15 in reality it could have been 19-22 well anyways after this happend about 2 weeks later my car would hesitate to accelerate in every gear except for first at WOT and it would only boost to 15lbs in first then barely 10lbs in every other gear. so I was leaking boost from somewhere, checked all my charge pipes and they were fine, then one day smoke was coming out of my engine bay. and i sourced it to the tube that comes off of the valve cover. not the pcv valve but the other tube taht recircs vapors into the intake. when I gave it throttle it would go away but when it idle it would just billow out of the tube also my exhaust note changed to where it sounded like it was mis-firing. so I called Marcus Herman one of the tuners up here in washington state and told him my symptoms and he told me it was a possible cracked piston, hole in a piston. rings. or warped cylinder walls. So next month im pulling the head off to inspect the pistons, and check for any signs of damage on the cylinder walls which im praying that there isnt any but you never know. So anyways if i pull the head and it turns out the cylinder walls are fine. what other upgrades would any of you recommend such as things like pulling the balance shafts. or replacing the pistons with 2nd gen pistons. cams lifter etc. any help would be much appreciated. I dont have much money but it'll be a while before I pull the head so I would like to source some parts that I could benefit from thanx. pz
