Specs:
'93 Eclipse SOHC(1.8L? n/a)
Well my room mate bought my other room mate a Im sorry but a POS Eclispe(due to previous owners failure to maintance) with the gifted persons money. I come from the land of Jeeps and Toyotas so forgive me for any ignorance.
First start up it ran at 2800RPMs so I pulled the screw out to 800RPMs and it stalled out. So Im assuming a open EGR Valve. Bumped the screw back in to a slightly steady idle at 1800RPMs.
My main question is could the EGR Valve being stuck partially open cause the car to have extremely poor acceleration?
When I say poor I mean WOT feels like 1/8th throttle. Also the exhaust puffs a bit which might be the EGR Valve or poor spark plugs. Im going to be getting around to basic tuneup for him tomorrow since today we just Seafoamed the hell out of the engine to free up any crud. Just trying to collect some extra info so I can plan out my day.

What "screw" did you adjust? The BISS screw? If so, that has nothing to do with your EGR system. And if the EGR system is anything like the 4G63 EGR system, the valve stays closed when not in use. This senario IMO doesn't point to the EGR valve.
