So here's the problem, I can't get the car to stay running on its own, it turns over and starts but it will die immediately, but If i give it some gas it will rev up pretty high and die again. If i keep giving it some gas i can get it to stay running but there's major idle surge and its idling really high. I had a friend start the car and give it some gas to keep it running and i unplugged the ISC and the TPS, and this didn't change anything, it stayed running but with major surge and high idle. I've tried messing around with the cam angle sensor to no avail. I've tried doing a boost leak test, but no matter what i do i can't get my boost gauge to read any pressure no matter how much air i pump in (tried with bicycle pump and small compressor). It is a rebuilt 2.3L stroker motor. Any one have any ideas as to what else i can check for/what could be wrong? Sorry for the long post but I've bin trying to get it running for 2 weeks now and no success. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you said you messed with the cas, does that mean you have checked the base timing? I know it won't run, but pull the plug on the coil pack and the engine fuse, have a friend crank the motor over while you check the timing with the timing light.

hmm, i haven't checked base timing yet. I thought that if the timing marks on the crankshaft Sprocket, oil pump sprocket, and cam gears all lined up then the timing would be okay, wouldn't it? All i did with the CAS was loosen the two nuts on it and try rotating it clockwise/ counterclockwise to see what that would do, I also turned it 180* but that didnt do anything either

Alrite so just a little update here, this problem is fixed and the car is running fine now. Turns out the problem was a MASSIVE boost leak, caused by me kind of forgetting to put the lower injector insulators on during the rebuild, thus causing no compression whatsoever, LOL:p. Oh well, haha, we all make mistakes sometime.

Glad to hear you resolved your problem. Even better was the fact that it was one of those, oopps mistakes and easily fixed. Happy boosting.
