So, I'm having difficulty with my idle. Mods are in profile. The car ran well for about 6 months and due to an oil leak in the timing cover, the belt was stripped by the crank, I just shut the car off and tried to start it again and it wouldnt crank. Well, that was fixed with a new belt and new gaskets and now I can't get the thing to idle. The lifters were also removed and cleaned when the belt was off. I've done a boost leak test and replaced a rubber intercooler elbow that was leaking. The only method of tuning I have is MMcd. When I start the car up, i seem to be getting somewhat poor vaccum.....around 15-16, and my TPS on the logger reads 8.9 with my foot off the gas. It used to read 10.1 on startup. My injector duty cycle was usually at 0.7. The problem im having is the poor vaccum and when it warms up it will either rev to about 1500 with the clutch depressed, or rev to about 500. What is strange also, when it idles at about 500 , the vaccum is around 21-22??? I'm lost. Any help would be awsome.

The 4G63 is an interfearance engine. Slipping more than a couple teeth on the crank = bent valves which could explain your problem. I'd perform a compression test to verify this though.

Note that an incorrectly installed T-belt (e.g. timing marks on both crank/cams) can cause poor idle and low wengien vac. My exhaust cam was off a tooth (it rotates naturally away from alignment when installing the belt) and my engine vac was -15 vs -20 normal :dsm:
