Ok so today coming home from school I was on the highway doing about 60 or 70 just cruising and I go to give it some more gas to switch lanes and it feels like i just hit a wall. It somewhat pulled me forward and then all of a sudden just threw me back in my seat again and accelerated fine. I'm wondering if this has something to do with fuel related issues because it has done this before and usually it will do it coming out of a right turn but today was maybe the second time it has done it just moving straight on the highway. I guess it somewhat feels like a fuel cut. Also I have noticed that when it does this I'm usually low on gas today i was just above Empty. Has anyone ever noticed this same problem when their gas was low?? I do have a Big T28 turbo and I'm still running the stock fuel pump and stock injectors. The car (1996 Eagle Talon TSI FWD) has about 104,300 miles on it. Could the injectors need replacing? or fuel pump? Are the stock injectors and fuel pump sufficient enough to handle a Big T28? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Guys!

There are a lot of problems that can cause the hesitation you are describing. Have you boost leak tested lately? That may be a good place to start. Another area to check is the condition of your spark plugs and spark plug wires. One other item worth checking would be your throttle position sensor. As long as you keep the boost down around 14psi or less, you should be fine using the Big28 with a stock fuel system.

It sounds like you have one of 2 issues: Fuel starvation caused by you running low fuel or you hit fuel cut.

Fuel cut has nothing to do with your fuel system or your pump/injectors/FPR to supply fuel. You can get a 255 with an AFPR and 850cc injectors, if you have a massive boost leak then you'll still hit fuel cut. Try to simulate a same conditions with a full tank of fuel. If it doesn't happen, don't worry about it. If it happens with a full tank then do a boost leak test.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?

Also check your plug gaps, make sure they are .028". Excessive gap can cause misfire, especially under higher engine load.

And as the other guys suggested do a boost leak test.

Thanks for the responses guys....Yea I just had my fuel filter replaced about a month ago so that should be good...I'm going to try to simulate with a fuel tank of gas and see if i can get it to do it at all...and I just built a boost leak tester the other day just to have on hand and am going to do a test tomorrow. Thanks for the input guys :thumb:
