I thought I had a pretty good grasp of wiring, but for some reason I am having a problem.
I was putting some new gauges in (UEGO, Oil Press, Water Temp). I wired the UEGO seperately, red to an open spot in the kick panel, and grounded it. It works fine from what I can gather.
I then wired the two other gauges for illumination, Autometer white wire to green/white wire on the hazard light harness I believe, and Autometer black wire to black/yellow wire on the same harness. The illumination for gauges works correctly with the dimmer switch.
However, after grounding the actual gauges themselves, everytime I apply current to the gauge through a power source, the gauges spike to as far to the right as they can go, and then I hear a loud buzzing coming from somewhere near the ECU.
What the heck is this?
