Okay I was on a hill going uphill at a redlight, and some guy came all the way up my ass. I got nervous to not roll back and over reved and held the clutch in too long (act 2100, stree disk). I heard this loud bang on the bottom right side of my car and shortly later the smell of burnt clutch. I don't know if im imaginging it but the clutch seems softer, and i seem to peel out throught first, where as before it would hold pretty well.

What happened? Clutch has less than 2k on it. Original tranny.

Come on guys, I'm sure some of you gurus know what happened.

Are you saying it feels like the clutch doesnt grab as hard? I dont think one bad start would mess up the clutch face. Did you use new clutch components such as new throwout bearing and fork, ect, when putting in the ACT2100?

no i dont think i got anything new. I just got the whole kit, pressure plate, disk, and that I think the bearing was new, but not the fork. I just want to know what that loud bang was?

I had the exact same thing happen in my 98 GS-T. My clutch feels really soft, and before it was real hard to push down, same clutch. Also my idle is all screwed up (idles at 1200 instead of 750) Around the same miles on the clutch, except mine happened on flat road.
