My car WAS running PERFECT or so i thought before i had to go get a timing belt installed.
Seriously though nothing was wrong with it, idled perfect, ran perfect no knocking / ticking from the engine.
After fighting over and over with a POS shop i took the car to for the timing issue, i find out today after going somewhere else, the reason why my car was idleing rough is because my compression is bad.
#1 100
#2 95
#3 100
#4 60
Also said that there was whiteness all over my sparkplugs and ontop of the cylenders.
So i was running lean for long time.
Just F'in great.
Ive spent over 900$ in the past couple of days JUST to have someone tell me that my cars pretty much shot.
Next step is either rebuild or new motor huh?
What would you guys suggest?

Before you rip the engine apart, have a leakdown test performed so you can pinpoint the source of the low compression. As low as those numbers are, I think the timing belt installation is questionable and could be a factor in those low compression numbers, especially if you had no problems prior to the timing belt replacement.

Ya.. the place i took it to, as soon as they called and said my car was ready to get, i went up there started the car (which barely started had a very hard time cranking) which is has NEVER done before ever..
started and was just puttering like hell. i told them thats not right you need to fix it. well they fixed nothing and said that there work was done. drove it home timing belt skipped, or thats atleast what it felt like. and then the car started to run abit better then before.
This last place i took it to, which specialized in Mitsubishi cars said that he looked over the timing job and everything was in order.
The guy actually blamed me for my compression being so bad.
I have upper and lower intercooler pipes, injen intake and greddy bov.
He said i need bigger injectors and another fuel pump with my mods.
Which makes sense but that shouldnt have killed my car like this.

Ok so i guess what i need to be asking is where should i go for a engine?
any good online stores to order from?
theres always ebay...
but i think id rather get it else where.

There are def plent of good engines on ebay especially if u wanna just replace the motor also your chance to put a little jdm in the car ! I have and ebay 4g63t motor in my car for about a year now! :thumb: no ticking sputtering nothing!:talon:

Ok so if i do decide to get an engine off ebay, and i happen to get a JDM one, what other kinda stuff am i gonna be running into?
Do i need to swap ecu's, rewire the car completely?
Im not really wanting something thats going to be an arm and a leg to put in, i had an older Celica(1991) which i was planning to drop a jdm engine into, but after reading just all the extra problems you run into and extra things you needed, i decided against it.
Is the Eclipse jdm the same story?

WTF Where on Gaines Street is this place?

If you have pipes, intake and a bov at 15psi on the stock T25 the MAS will see more air and dump more fuel making your car will run rich, NOT LEAN. You might have a fuel system issue - clogged injectors, filter, bad pump maybe, dying AFPR. I don't see how else you would run lean on a mostly stock car.

... someone correct me, if I'm wrong.

I wanna say its alittle bit further down from latenight library on the opposite side of the street. (before you get to the stadium)
Called (PAC) Professional Automotive Center

I'll add them to the list of places that I won't go to.

Honestly, before you think about a rebuild, take your car to First Team Mitusbishi and have them look at it. If they say the timing belt job is good, then leave it at that. I still say that Pep Boys f****d up your timing belt job and that you need a second opinion. Let me know if you want me to go with you to Mitsubishi, the guys that work at the dealership know me.
