This sucks. I just finished fixing my car i thought..........and i notice my car wasnt boosting at all. I figured i would still drive across the interstate and take my car to my mechanic. well i was driving i and i started to smell a little burning smell. like burnt oil. so i decided to stop, and when i downshifted to neutral. the car stalled. i turned it back on and again stalled. i noticed the o2 sensor was loose and tried to put it back on and started to here like this grinding scratching sound right where the turbo was. i noticed there was oil at the bottom, like if it had busted out. i noticed there was smoke coming out of the tailpipe and figured i had to make it home. i could still here the grinding and scratching sound. the car starts ok i guesss, just that awful noise. what could it be guys????? any ideas???? im about to burn this car if i dont get it fixed this week. pleeeaseee help me

Check the turbo for shaftplay and check your LICP for oil.

Sounds like your turbo could have bit the dust.

A compression test is also in order.

Hey that sound like a good idea. Take off the turbo intake and see if the compressor wheel is grinding and etc.

had a problem like this 2 weeks ago. Heard a weird noise, then the stalling started. Pulled my intake tube and found this...

OMG

Somehow it stayed connected to the shaft though so it still spun normally. the nut came off and beat the fins up. i think your shaft may have backed out though and thats why you have the oil. But thats just my guess :|

yep. thats it. i took it to my mechanic and he said my turbo bearing is screwed. so im just gonna replace it with my 14b i have laying around. it had a 13g on it. so i guess im gonna get that done tomorrow.
