Last night I started my car, turned the lights on, and started going home. I didn't get more than 10 feet before the headlights shut off. I turned the stick to running lights only back to headlights, but they didn't turn on. I then turned the stick to "lights off" then turned it back to the running light position. They didn't even work now.
Now, the gauge lights, tailights, and running lights...as well as the headlights don't work. Also, in the gauge cluster the e-brake light and the battery light are lit during regular driving. The car still runs fine, and everything else works.
The first thing I checked was fuses. The headlight fuse is blown. No surprise there. I checked the alternator fuse and it was fine. I checked every other fuse that could be relavant...gauges, tail lights, etc and everything else was fine. Actually I checked almost every other fuse in there. My main question is could a headlight fuse do all this? I feel like there is a short somewhere all of a sudden and it's going to be a PITA to find it. If anyone has had a similar problem or any light to shed on this please let me know. Thanks.
