Sudbury,
I recently found that an MBC that I purchased used was making my boost surge. When I hooked the wastegate direct, it was fine.
I wanna know if boost controllers fail and what is it about them that fails. The one I have is an HKS restrictor type. I figure they are such a simple tool, hard to believe they fail so easily. It is about 5-6 years old.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks

I know htis doesnt answer your questiong but, have you tried shortening the vacuum hoses you are using? I know I had trouble with my boost till I shortened the hoses.

Well, my hoses are pretty short. The one going from the turbo to the mbc is about 8-10" and the one from the mbc to the wastegate is about 15". I dunno ifc that is too long or not. I could prob shorten them up a couple inches each. When I hook the wastegate direct with the exact same hoses it works fine. Let me know what you think!

Another thing i just thought of when I was having boost problems was that I blew out my j pipe gasket so maybe check for boost leaks if you havent already.
