Is this connector (pic) for the reverse lights?

The previous owner of my car had a bodykit on there, and no reverse lights, I did the full 97-99 conversion and its been so long I've been running without them, so I figure what the hell, its one of the few things left to do on my car.

So here I am trying to see how this will work. Obviously there is another connector that will split it to go to each side. (I have a 2G). That I don't have, and when I called satan they tell me they will only sell the entire harness. WTF!. So as you can see I tapped into the wires. The blue and the black one seem to be power and ground. When I tap then to the connector of the reverse light, they will go on. I don't know what the red one is for.

Now the thing is, the light will stay on, even when not in reverse. Maybe someone might know whats going on, or maybe this isnt even the backup light connector in the first place. This is the only connector left.

take a volt meter or a test light and figure out which one is the trigger wire. I am guessing it is the red/black wire since you said your lights will stay on with the blue wire hooked up. Hook up the test light to the red/black wire when the car is'nt in reverse and see if it lights up when you put it in reverse. Do the same with the blue. Hook up the test light to whichever wire is getting power and put the other end of the test light to the black wire(make sure the black wire is ground first)see if the test light, lights up when you put it in reverse. If you end up having to buy a wire harness. check salvage yards or classifieds on here.look for a car someone is parting out completely and ask them for one.

Thanks for the reply, I should let you know what I did in regards to this problem. I checked my uncles super bone stock gs-t with everything working, this wire i have pictured is also not connected. Just chilling there, makes me wonder what this does, but thats another story.

So basically, when you remove the rear bumper it has that harness sticking out. Theres 3 wires on there, I did not assume the reverse lights were in here because I had connected the parking lights to it which work normally, with further inspection the unused wire was for the reverse lights. When I got my car the owner took out the harness. So i hardwired everything. 1 Wire is ground, 1 wire is for parking lights, and 1 is for reverse. An unmolested car will have another harness connected to this harness splitting the ground for both to use. Yes with a voltmeter it is easily identifiable. Put it in reverse and one wire will go 12v, thats it.
