I have a 95 gst i think. I recently through the timing off due to a belt getting into the timing belt. It knocked a whole in piston number 2 and had to get a new engine. i have found out that the engine in my 95 was a 90. A shop did the swap to a 95 and warranted the work. they had trouble matching up the M/T. They ended up shimming (i guess the slave slender and were it pushes the clutch in. I finally got the car back after 3 weeks of work. the first day i had the car i blew the turbo hoses apart because they didnt hookup the vacuum lines up right and overboosted. Now the Transslips and the car acclerates and doesnt move hardly. A few weeks went by and had a oil leak from the breather and was leaking everywhere. I leave for a week and when i get back and only get 9 miles down the road a connecting rod on cylinder 1 snaps and coolant was allover the engine. On the old engine i was able to run 23 psi no problem and the car ran fine now i am just running barely 15 psi. My big Question is since he did the job and he warrantied it should he fix it or tell me to pay part andfix it that way. What should i do im so confused?

Did the shop that reversed the prior 1G to 2G engine swap understand all the steps necessary to properly do so? Magnus Motorsports put together THIS complete guide which you may want to take to the shop if you are unsure.

If the shop botched the install or warranteed the engine which failed due to installation error or was bad to begin with then they should pay 100%.

If the failure was the result of your temporary overboosting due to an oversight of the install, then I would think it also on them to correct. If you overboosting for extended periods and/or your driving habbits or lack of oversite on maintenance (low oil), I'd say it's on you :dsm:
