I was driving my car around all day yesterday and no problem. I parked it for about 10 minutes and went to go start it up agian, and my headlights just started to flash on and off, but when i turned the switch on they worked fine. It only was happening when the switch was off. So i pulled the relay out and let it sit for a min. or so and plug it back in and then it stopped, but about an hour later, all of the sudden it did it agian. I did the same thing and it stopped. Now all day today, no problems at all. Anything like this ever happen to anyone?

Not sure if you car has a factory or aftermarket alarm? On my Galant, since I have the alrms horn removed, if the factory alarm gets tripped then my headlights flash. Have never tried turning my lights on after I set off the alarm but in order to stop it, you have to shut the door, use the key and lock/unlock it from the outside. Thats if you no longer have the alarm remotes. When the headlights are flashing, can you hear a relay clicking anywhere?

If you dont have an alarm or factory alarm at all, I have no clue what would cause it, very weird issue indeed.

How would I check to see if i have a factory alarm?

I've had the car for about a year and its never done this before and I didnt do anything different. Also it happened when the car was already running and had been running for about a half an hour or so. Just out of nowhere, i was sitting with just my markers on, in front of a friends house and it started flashing.

Im really hoping its not some deep wiring problem, thats the last thing I'd like to deal with. But i guess it goes with a 16 year old car.

::edit:: yea i hear the relay clicking really fast, the head light relay

I tried like 3 different relays, they all clicked. But the problem just seemed to stop. So who knows. ::knock on wood:: its been 2 days and nothing yet.
