I was doing a 255 pump and while putting the lid back on in an awd i broke one of the 6 studs that closes the lid of the tank. Will this cause me problems?

probably not. Install the rest, and then pay attention if there are excessive fuel fumes in/around the car when you drive.

so fumes would be the only problem? Or would there be a problem with gas milage or pressure?

Well, the gas tank is naturally vented, and fuel pressure is built by the pump, inside fuel lines, not the tank, so no, it won't affect your performance and gas mileage. Fumes and spills are the only two hazzards arizing from that fuel pump assembly cover.
