heres something weird that maybe you guys can help me with. when i launch my car, and shift into 2nd i hear a thumping noise from the rear of the car. and it wil continue thru 3rd gear until i get off the gas or shift into 4th gear. any ideas????

It may be that your driveshaft is bottoming out against the carrier bearings. The collars get tired/soft/torn and allow the driveshaft to move around excessively.

I believe there's a v-fac on this, but I don't know how to post a link to it...

Just securely support your vehicle on jackstands, and crawl under and start with the center driveshaft. Grab a good hold and try to move it around. If you can get it to thump I'd investigate it further.

Also, while you're under there you should check the u-joints and c.v. joint in the driveshaft for wear/damage/hardware tightness.

Good luck, and let us know what you find.

ARRRGHH..I type slow!!!!

thanks guys, i will definately tackle that project this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

thanx
