Posting this for a friend. His car is a 1995 Talon TSi AWD.

Apparently, while turning it will make a thumping sound from the driver's rear tire area. It doesn't happen every time, and just started happening a few days ago. The car had been 'doglegging', but was fixed and re-aligned.

I'm thinking it might be a bent rim... not sure what a bad wheel bearing sounds like.

It's not the wheel bearings because i just replaced them and it didn't solve it. It just solved the issue when my car was making a rubbing noise going around 45mph.

if you increase the speed, does the sound increase with it? if so then you know its in the turning parts of the car. not steering, but acual rotating parts. like drive-line, tires etc. a deep thumping is usually an indication of tire problems, any feathering or cupping on the tire? could be a broken belt within the tire
