Okay so I just bought a 95 Eclipse with 84k miles on it... my oil pressure was towards the high end of the gauge when I first bought the car.. The other day I went to start it up and it almost bogged down and died... Also when I start it up it sounds like a damn chipmunk is squealin in there..a tech said it sounds like the starter but i've heard a lot about crankwalk and I'm not sure if that noise could be something caused by crankwalk??? Anyways my car's oil pressure now is at the lower end of the spectrum... I just had the oil changed today to see if it would help and it didn't move it.. when I'm actually moving around 70mph the gauge is in the middle of N - H.. If i let my car sit for awhile then start it up again it drops to about 500 rpms and feels like its gonna die but just hangs in there barely... anyone know my problems!? please help..

First thing you want to do is run a Boost Leak Test.
You want to be able to hold 20 psi in your system for no less than 30 seconds.
Secondly, check your crank pully for signs of seperation. It's a common problem on an 11 year old car.
You'll have to pin point the the squealing a little better. If the accessory belts in the vehicle are old, or if the pullies for the belts aren't lined up they'll make a ton of noise on startup or at idle, but quiet down at higher rpms.
Your oil pressure will varry depending on engine speed. Your oil pump is driven off your timing belt, therefore the faster the engine is turning, the faster your oil pump is turning. On start up it's normal for the car to reach 90-100 psi oil pressure, and during cruising 40-60 psi is completely normal. Without an aftermarket oil pressure gauge it is hard to tell if your oil pressure if below normal or not. The stock guess-o-meter isn't very accurate.

Thanks for the information. The noise happens the same everytime it's near the rear of the car located around where the starter is. The noise happens when you start the car only and it happens at the end of the rpm boost when its starting up... Rpms go up above 1,000 when I start it up and then as there dropping it makes that noise. Could be the selenoid? Also how hard is it to install the boost gauge and oil pressure gauge? I'm like pretty low on the newbdar so do you think it's possible I could install them myself? Another note.. when it start's up the oil pressure is usually under the L and when im cruising its about where the oil picture is..

Def need to do a boost leak test. A boost gauge is probably one of the most simple gauges to install. step by step instructions are available here www.vfaq.com along with other helpful information. good luck
