I have recently noticed that my car was sagging a little on the driver side, so i took it to my mechanic to see if there was an easy explanation. I know that 2g dsm's often, but in this case it seemed like it was sagging a little too much. Well it turns out that my car is cracking bad all around the drivers side upper strut tower mount, and is also starting to crack on the passengers side. What do you guys think i should do. My mechanic says he can either put new caps on or weld up the cracks. What do u guys think the best thing to do would be?

Welding it should be fine i dont see why having a few cracks would mean you need to replace the whole cap. Welding the cracks is going to "melt" the metal together and also add some more at the same time, making it all one solid piece again. The weld should be, if done correctly, the strongest part of the metal part by far. Go with welding is what i would do, much cheaper in both parts and labor.
