Ok here's the background on my situation. I was driving on the highway going about 45mph and accelerating and then all of a sudden my motor cuts out, my lights and everything else work but not my motor, I pulled over and tried to restart my car, and it clicks over but won't catch and fire up. Since then I've switched my alternator, starter, and coil packs, also got a new battery, and checked all my fuses, also there's enough gas, but still the same thing, I checked to see if I had spark coming from the coil packs but there's still no spark even with my new coils. The only thing I could think of next is my ECU is fried. Could that be a possibility ? Any input would be appreciated.

97 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T is the car at hand.

thanks

Well, it could be loss of voltage. I would check to make sure I had 12 volts to my injectors. That would tell you that part is good. No spark could be the CAS also. You might try a loaner from a friend, or you could scope pattern it. See if your tach needle moves when you crank. Also, when you key on engine off, does the turbo gauge go to 0?

I've seen a few igniters go bad, and this could be easily checked by hooking your test light to positive on your battery and see if you get a flashing at your coil grounds. The CAS can also cause the same problems. I would look at it first.

Do these tests and let us know.

ok did the tests, and everything checks out, I've got 12v to my injectors and my coil packs are good, and as for the CAS where's it located on a 2G? my turbo gauge jumps when I turn my key and when its in the "acc" position the needle settles at zero. Any other suggestions?
