I had this motor rebuilt about 6000 miles ago, and even then the oil pressure wasnt where it was suppose to be. I was comming home at about 105 mph, then all of a sudden the motor pulled the timing, and a sudden drop in horsepower. I pulled over at my exit and heard a loud clattering sound.. After that i was pissed! I put my DSM up for a while, and pulled out the ole faithful 93 Honda accord... Well, about a week ago i took my car to the local import mechanic shop(specializes in DSM's).. AS soon as i pull up he shakes his head, gives me two thumbs down and yells "cut ot off!". After further inspection he calls me yesterday and tells me i have a spun main bearing.. What alternatives do i have? He told me about a crank kit.. Is it easy to install? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean by the oil pressure wasnt where it was suppossed to be? I am in a similar situation. I recently did a complete engine re build on my 90 laset Rst. I was driving home one day from work and my car did the same thing. It struggled to idle at a stop sign then had no horsepower. I pulled over to the side of the road and popped the hood, it sounded like i had a lifter tick problem so i went and upgraded the lifters to the 3g lifters. I put it all back together a few weeks ago and fired it up. the lifter tick sound is gone, but now the tick seemed to sound more like a knock. I have had previous cars spin rod bearings and i know what that sounds like. The tick sounded like a rod knock..needless to say i was pissed, but i gave in and torn the bottom end apart. The bearings looked just fine, there was no major signs of scoring or problems with the rod bearings. It is possible to spin a main bearing? or was it one of your rod bearings? I am getting new rod bearings this weekend so hopefully that is the problem...should i check the mains as well? let me know what you find out or if you have any more advise on what to check for next. I really miss driving that thing... im stuck with the N/T laser now

when i rebuilt the motor i bought the engine rebuild kit from slowboy. it had everything in it pretty much. it came with a new front cover and gear. I had the block decked, 0.020 bored, crank turned, pistons and rods sized up. I just dont get it... i love the car, but hate the fact that it could be broken already...thanks for the help, any more info is much appricated. Tim
