:| Hi I'm new here but I have a big problem with my 92 talon n/t doch and was looking for some help well this is what happend i was driving on the highway and all of a sudden all my lights come one radiator check engine well that was already one and battery came one brake and all those then the engine temp started rising till it was almost to real hot so i shut it off and coasted it home was only a block away or 2 but when i went to give it gas before i noticed the temp was rising all the lights got dim and the battery wont hold a charge (alternator problem) for that most likely but i went and got a koyo hi flo radiator installed that still overheating went and got a new thermostat installed that still overheats maybe is this waterpump or sensor or something else but what i don't get is why would all of a sudden the battery not hold a charge when the temp started to rise?? Please help me all info is greatly appreciated thank you :talon:

If it isn't your belts (slipping or broke), I would check water pump, alternator and coolant just to start.

If that doesn't do it I would check the timing.

Next I would look for your punctuation. Because I think that you lost all of the periods somewhere. :nono: Just makes it hard to read.

I was leaning that way, but if the battery lost it charge all at once, AND the car started to overheat at the same time, then chances are it's the serpentine belt. My crank pulley went out on my car a few weeks back, and it shreded my serpentine belt and threw a CEL, my battery light, and my coolant light.

Good luck.

I would hope that if he changed his radiator he would have noticed the simple things like belts and low coolant. Its hard to say from his post what is really wrong. Have to wait to see what he comes back with.

thx guys well i didn't want to be messing with it. Seeings how it is under 3 foot of snow. Well i just dug it out and looked at the serpentine belt and that is missing LOL. I thought i would have herd something like that break. I don't realy know to much about talons, eclipse, lasers, had a accord before this car. Oh before i go when i put another belt on should the lights automatically go off or do i have to reset the ecu or something like that?? sorry am not a good speller i will spell check though.

thx man do you know if my new found eratic idle will smooth out also from this. After this happend it went up to 1/12 grand then drop then back up then drop.sometimes it even went to 2 grand.

Kool thx again. I just got done puting the belt on wow! I dident think it would be so hard now all i have to do is tighten the altanater back up. Then i will turn it on and get back to you to let you know how it is doing.

Ok now that i have connected everything. It all seem's to be working fine. All the lights have gone off. i have just a couple more questions though. Ok first i messed with the idle and now it dies if i dont give it gas. Now as it dies all the lights come one again. But when it is runing none of them are on is this natrual? My other question is like i said i have a aftermarket radiator koyo hiflo. But this one does not have the sensor plug like the stock one did, you know the one that goes into the radiator i think it powers the fan's. becouse, now my fans dont turn on. Is there enyway to hook the sensor to something else or turn the fans on another way ? .Also there is a little bit of smoke coming from the passenger side top of the radiator my friend said it was paint is this also natraul? it is just a little bit but maybe it isent broke in yet? ...............sorry spell check will not load up.

Yes all of your lights will turn on when it dies. If your fans aren't working your car will overheat. I suppose you could switch them manually put that would be a pain. I'd switch back to a stock radiator to keep full functionality.

You can easily wire the fan so that it will just run all the time. Simply cut off the plug that goes to the sensor you are talking about and connect the two wires to each other. If you dont want them to run all the time you could wire up an independent switch and mount it somewhere inside the car.

See vfaq about setting idle.
