Ok I bought a 92 eagle talon a month back and ever since I got it the ABS light was on. So after driving the car for about 500 miles I decided its time to investigate why the light was on. Turns out the ABS fuse was pulled out, so I put a new one in and the light went off. However now the front brakes pulsate very badly. It forces the clutch pedal to bounce back at me when braking. This obviously has something to do with the ABS since it wasn't a problem when the fuse wasn't in. Any ideas what this could be and why the ABS engaged is affecting my brakes like this?

well ABS is supposed to pump when you get on the brakes hard but not violently. how hard is it pulsating?

fairly hard I would say, its almost like trying to stop hard on snow if you know what I mean. I own two of the exact same model dsm's 92 with abs, the other one works just fine with no pulsating or pumping.

Ok thanks, I will look into it first thing tomorrow morning and see what I can find out. I'll post and let you know.

Well I went ahead and switched out the abs relay with a good working one form my other dsm and it seemed to fix the problem for a few miles, then it started acting up again on me. So then I checked the other dsm and it still works just fine with the different relay. So for now it is on hold till I have more time to investigate.

Its apparent the origional owner removed the relay to make it not pulsate for you to buy it ;)

I had a 91 with the same problem, Just unplugged the plugs to the abs and drove it for a year, no problems, stopped just fine,
