Test Questions!

Ok so my talon awd seems a little sluggish as of late...it might just be a bad take of gas, but i want to make sure. Im relatively new to the DSM world, and I need some help I would like to know how to run a compression test, what i need for it, and if anyone has detailed instructions with pictures that would be a big help. Also, I want to run a boost leak test. Im looking for detailed instructions with pictures for that as well. If anyone one can help it is much appreciated!

I can help you with the boost leak test. You can buy all the parts at ace hardware you need a 2 1\2 in pvc coupling with clamps and a pvc end cap that will fit in to the coupling. also you need a valve stem and some thred tape. here is a link to the post that will give you some pics.

then you take off the air intake from the turbo and hook up the leak tester and fill it with air and listen for leaks.

Im not sure which line is the intake for the turbo....also, when i run this boost leak test, should the motor be running, and should i let it warm up first or just turn the car on and push the air through? is 20psi safe?

NO you definitely want the motor off to test this or it could get ugly. try not to exceed 20 psi and take the whole air intake off the turbo. ( the airbox and the black tubing that connects to the airbox to the turbo.) it looks like http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html
it is on the passenger front of the car and goes to the middle front. where the filter thing is. there are just unhook everything and take the whole assembly out then hook up the tester and fill it with air.

If you have a boost leak, what would is sound like, I mean, like, ohh...I'm so confused, haha. I don't think my talon is running so hot either, definetly not pushing 210 hp like it should be.

When you pressureize the system it would sound like a loud hissing coming from somewhere.
