My eclipse is breaking down in secone gear!

Its a 98 gsx with a jdm 6 bolt and works great in first gear and through second when i let it get high into the rpm's it will start to stutter a bit and break down some!! Probably in the other higher gears but not in first! What does this sound like!?? Things i know

vacuum is good no vacuum leaks, oil press is good not over heating, runs and idles fine. no smoke. any one have the same problem??? Thanks!

Could just be a tuning issue..Try doing some logs, and making some fuel adjustments.

When is the last time you replaced the plugs?
Tuneup?

Can you tell us more then "it breaks down in 2nd"??

Does it do it in the other gears or not? Probably is not an answer..

yeah i have the same problem..first gear fine, when i get on it and get in to the boost it's still fine, it's when i shift to second and give it gas it breaks up...it's like it breaks up after i get into boost and it sounds like its running on 2 cylinders and it does it for a while or until i shut if off or let it idle for awhile then its fine.i can drive around through the gears fine if i don't boost. I've changed coil pack,plug wires,plugs, got good oil pressure and it's not over heating..i checked compression it is 125 across the board.

Are you using platinum spark plugs? If so that is probably the problem, get some ngk bpr6es plugs and maybe some new spark plugs wires. Sounds like your misfiring, I had a similiar ploblem.

i have brand new NGK BPR7ES and band new accel 300+ thundersport wires.....
for me it was because of the .30 gap so i pulled them out and set them at .28 and that worked for me..o yeah i had bad gas too.

tried the new plugs and noticed my number 4 on the coli pack end was loose so that fixed the problem!
