First off, hello everyone, new guy here :)

I have just did the buzzer thing to pull 1G codes:

http://vfaq.com/mods/wayback/BradBauer/electrical/code.html

It's a little confusing, but I think I got it. This is the beep series my car was giving:

L-S-L-S-S-L-S-L-S-S-L-S-L-S-S-L

In the guide, it says that "The codes always start with a long pulse and will finish with a short pulse. So start counting with the first long pulse after a short one. Count until you hear a long pulse after a short one again."

So, I'm guessing I'm throwing two codes here?

One - L-S-S
Two - L-S

If that's correct, then I'm supposed to count 10 for the L, and 1 for the S

Code one - 12 - Volume air flow sensor
Code two - 11 - O2 sensor

Is this correct???

Code one - The guy I got the car from said it had "Al Blaha's Mass Air Flow".. 1 - what the hell is this? 2 - would that cause that code? 3 - any way to clear it?

Code two - I have a 3" turbo-back exhaust with no cat. Just a straight pipe. Where should the 02 sensor be? This is most likely the reason, right? Is there a way to eliminate that code?

Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions about this car guys, I'll start to pick up on things eventually.. I'm a n00b

Thanks for ANY and ALL help.

If you're right on the L & Ss then those are the right error codes.

Al Blaha hacked 1G MAS's to make them flow better and to help defeat fuel cut. You would need an AFC, EPROM or larger injectors to compensate for the large amount of unmetered air it allows in (by design) so hope the old owner gave them to you wit the car. By removing the (-) battery cable for 15mins will effectively reset any ECU codes. If this does not help, then the MAS may be defective.

Code two - I have a 3" turbo-back exhaust with no cat. Just a straight pipe. Where should the 02 sensor be? This is most likely the reason, right? Is there a way to eliminate that code?
There should be an O2 sensor screwed into the 02 housing/downpipe. You need one for the engine to run properly. I would assume you have one but maybe not seeing it? It's about the size of a sparkplug with a few wires coming out the top. Code reset same as the MAS :dsm:

I have 560cc's, a walbro 255, and an S-AFC. The latter of which I have no idea how to use :)

If I pull the battery cable to reset the codes, will I reset the S-AFC settings? Or does that have a seperate battery/write to firmware?

The O2 - Maybe is shot and I need to replace it? I will get one tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks for the help so far!!

The S-AFC will store it's settings (thank god ;) ).

I'd definitely replace it especialy since you dont' know how old it was in the first place.

BTW.. definitely pick up a datalogger as are invaluable for tuning (and gives English CEL diagnostics). They go for $15-35 on eBay (search DSM + Datalogger) and come with cable and software for use with Palm or Laptop.

Once you get one we can talk tuning with the S-AFC :thumb:

how does the car run under acceleration? I threw a cel the other night and hooked up my data logger and it was the o2 sensor. When i would accelerate it would kind of stutter adn when it would boost it didnt pull like it should. So the next morning i replaced the o2 sensor and now it runs better than ever. also when i took the o2 sensor out and shook it it rattlea sign that it was bad. the o2 sensor in in the front right below the exhaust manifold on the 02 housing. its very obvious and is the only thing with wires running to it in the area. its kind of hard to get to with a wrench but what i did was get a plumbers wrench is what my dad called it to get it out and back in and it worked great. hope this helps and good luck.
