My 97 Spyder GS-T is having a strange problem that I have no idea how to fix or even where to start. Today I turned the car on and let her sit there in the driveway for about 5 minuites while I was cleaning out some things in the garage. All of a sudden I looked up and noticed a moderate ammount of blueish smoke coming from my tail pipes, My interior lights were dimmed and my SRS light was on. To test for a power loss i turned the headlights on and my rpm meter went dead. I turned the lights back of and the rpm gauge came back on. I also tryed reving the engine and when i did the power came back but the idle went down to 450 and i was getting a vibration. I also tried turning the car off and she would turn over but would not start. After a couple attempts i lost more and more power to the point where the dash lights were not on. Revently i had an aftermarket clutch and flywheel installed and also changed the starter and alternator because they went bad. The battery was also tested and the terminals were cleaned but still i have this odd problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

ok the blueish smoke is bad rings i know off and for your problem with power is did you check your alternator choke fuse 100amp also you might have a defective starter

Smell the smoke, does it smell like fuel? Your alternator is bad again it sounds like bud. Take it back.

Blue smoke is oil, however I have a feeling that you're dumping fuel, not burning oil.
Have you checked to see if you're losing oil at all?

You'll definatly want to do a boost leak test, as that could be your problem. Also, do a compression test. You will need to replace your alternator.

Sounds to me like you were losing voltage and hence the dimming lights... without the proper voltage everything started to die slowly... weak spark (not completely igniting) and also hence the lower idle.. check the battery/alternator
