Have a 90 tsi, mods in profile. Now, i got my car dyno'd when i had just a maf-t and i had no problems with any knock at all at 18psi on the evo 3. Now it just seems like ever since i hooked up the afc im knocking everywhere WTF . First off i know i should get an afpr or a chip to lower my timing at WOT (upwards of 28 deg) but idk if thats my problem. Exactly what will a knock sensor do if its bad?? I havent thrown any codes or anything but i think that may be atleast one of my problems when my car runs fine then as soon as i shift into 3rd real fast it get like 35 counts of knock, but if i let off and get back on it i only have about 5-8 counts. Any input would be appreciated. :talon: I forgot to mention.....i have fic 650s but is there any difference between my injectors just having the 6 pinholes instead of the pin type injectors that come stock?

Did you try running a little bit of race gas or is this on pump?

nah, i havent tried race gas yet but as far as logging knock,, im using a regular palm w/mmcd software. I havent had any experience with a "bad" knock sensor so i dont known how the car would feel or act. I was runnin 21 psi on 93 octane daily w/ 4-8 counts of knock. Then as soon as i hooked up my afc, i was knockin a LOT. So i turned the boost down to 14 and wouldnt ya know, i was still knockin everywhere. Its like if i shift real hard and fast especially from 2nd to 3rd, i get upwards of 35 counts of knock, but if i shift normal, i get like 5??? Could someone please explain to me whats goin on? Or if someone has had a similar situation? :talon:

You sure you hooked everything up on the S-AFC correctly? Any adjustments made on the AFC? If you are all of a sudden getting accessive knock counts after the s-afc install then you may want to double check everything leading into the s-afc.
