Help finding a used engine to swap

I have a 1990 talon tsi awd and a piston or a ring needs replacing and some other problems so I wanted to see if I could find a used engine to swap in place of the one that I have now. I have a limited budget so the cheaper the better any suggestion as to where I might be able to find one? Thanks

best thing I can say is check your local forums or do like I did......keep a good eye out for someone that needs to get rid of a car that is compatible with yours I got a whole car for just $300 from my local paper, that is where I got the '90 from. The guy that owned it had to get rid of it because of the home owners association was complaining that it was in pieces and he had to get rid of it quick...I'm telling you sometimes you can find a hell of a deal if you just take the time to look. best of luck to you

O.She got another car........I got a bigger work order .But yes....she is right.We started with one Talon,now have 3 engines and another car. WTF
