Must have hit my rear driverside tire really hard, thought I just killed the strut. Get home to find out that in actuality it is not the strut, that thing is fine. But rather it is the big metal thing that keeps it in place. Now I'm stupid and have no clue what that thing is called does anyone know? It is on the top of he strut where the two plastic rings sandwich that piece of metal. Damn thing just rusted through and broke right of. Please help, I have to go to SATAN tommorow morning to see if I can figure out what it is and don't want to look stupid.

dude the way your describing it sounds like the strut mount.............in other words, not a replaceable part.........part of the frame. sorry man but that sucks. :notgood:

not true - i just replaced both of mine on my 95 awd 2 weeks ago. there like $30 each from the dealer.
Mine rusted all the way around and broke off. I think they call them "bushing isolator"
but if ya just ask for "the plate that the strut bolt to" they should be able to find it.

Thanks dude. And they definetly are replace it as they already did it to the rear passenger.
