Ok here is what happened I was out driving on friday my car was running perfect.Good oil pressure,Good vac and idle, good temp,..I was slowing down at a stop light when I got to about 5mph the car stalled for no reason and when I try to start it all I hear is the starter moving..But nothing happens..None of the belts move the engine wont even try to start...I talked to a mechanic and he said it sounds like I need a new starter...Hopefully :| What do you think...Thanx..O yeah The same day My car brokedown my sister snapped her b-shaft belt after I installed a b-16g was not a good day for our eclipses  :dsm:

first thing to do is check your battery..look if your getting power from there the 2nd thing to do is that if you do hear the starter kicking out(you can hear it) than you would check if your car is getting spark..take out the spark plug wires and see from there if there is spark..the last thing to do is see if your gettin fuel....those are the main things you would look at...

Make sure you don't hold the plug close to your eye to check for spark, :D ground it at the intake manifold. To check for fuel, pull the return line on the fuel rail (driver side) and crank the car see if fuel shoots out of the rail. make sure you have a container to catch the fuel. All this is in the service manual, you should invest in one.

I do have a chiltons manual...Today I went to check on the car(I cant afford to get it out of the parking lot it brokedown in until thursday)I did notice that all my belts were turning except for the timing belt ...I will chek the fuel and spark later,,Bttery is good ..The starter just sounds like its spinning dont know excatly what kicking out sounds like...Sorry this would be my first starter problem OMG

Sounds like you sheared the teeth off the bottom of the belt.

I agree, that's the only thing I can think of that would stop the T-belt from spinning when all the other belts were spinning correctly.

Car is getting fuel and spark...If it is the timing belt ..I still cant check because of this late winter storm...Since the car stalled and this happened while I was moving do you think that I did any damage to the head..The car stalled at like 5mph I heard no knocking there was no smoke could the head be ok

Ive had that happen to me.. I was ideling my car and it died. My timeing belt was 3 months old and it shreded all of the teeth on the bottom. Open your hood get somone to start your car. Watch for all the belts to move except your cam gears. If that happens you prolly got a toasted belt.

heres some pics of what dmg it can cause Dmg

It would figure ....Just figures....Dsm's are a pain in the ass   :tease: :dsm:Im going to take the timing cover off in the morning so that I can check
