i have recently purchased a '95 eclipse RS completely stock. i intend on modifying it, but must first diagnose this problem. i've noticed after hard acceleration, the car seems to drive rough, as though possibly i have broken a motor mount. then the car cools(overnight) and seems to be fine again. not too long ago i launched the car at a stoplight raising the RPM to about 6K in third gear and this knocking noise and vibrating shimmy from under the hood which i still expeirience during acceleration. also, at highway speeds i can hear a knocking when passing over dips in the road. does this sound like a motor mount issue? i have visually inspected the mounts but they look okay from standing and looking in. could there be some other source for this? please help. :dsm:

thanks for the response. no it won't shake with just my hands. once again the shimmy has demininshed a good deal, but is still evident. i have noticed also, on less than perfectly smooth road surfaces, the drivers side wheel seems to be hop. :dsm:
