Ok so i searched and read alot about belt squeal.....i have a minor squeal coming from the left side of thew engine near the timing belt...at start up it isn't there then when it warms up it is apparent...not loud but apparent...a constant low pitched squeal...car is under warranty...but just to make sure if i spray the belts with lube or water would it go away if the harmonic balancer needs replacing or would it still swueal even with the water on the belts...and if it goes away coudl it be a belt and not the balancer...even thoguh the car has new belts put on it...thanks for the help in advance

I dont have any suggestions about the belts, but I just picked my gsx up from the shop today, and spent $260 to get the harmonic balancer replaced. I am really interested to find out how it went out seeming that my car is only a 99. My belts had a little squeel in them for about 2 weeks, and then POP! it just broke out the blue. good luck bro -jam

My sound seems to be coming from the highest up pulley now, and I have no idea what to call that, or where to pick a new one up. Any ideas/suggestions.. -jam

found mine...it's the water pump....it's coming form the timing belt housing and since timign belts don't squeak it must be the water pump...it's covered under warranty so i'll get that fixed pronto..gonan try and get the timing belt done while their at it...just in case
