so i ordered a 6 bolt nt motor and tranny to put in my 93 cuz my old ones were bad..... Anyways, my mechanic got it all put in and everything is good to go except the starter isnt doing anything. We've tried both starters and neither appear to be touching the flywheel. Is it possible that I just need a new starter for the 6 bolt and that my 7 bolt starter just isnt workin cuz its not the same???? Any help is greatly appreciated

In your post you said that it isnt touching the flywheel. That should tell ya that it isnt gonna work right. Might of been a typo. I had a starter problem today, got it fixed by beatin on the thing, but I checked the Neutral switch on the clutch petal, just get a power light out and see if its got any power. Neutral switch is the little clicky button on the clutch pedal when you push it in to make it fire.

hey thanks,,, but i'm still not really sure whats goin on.. Is there a difference between a 6 bolt starter and a 7 bolt starter???
