power steering belt

i just got to work and i started to hear a noise like a sliping belt. i turned off the car and poped the hood and saw that about 3/4th of the power steering belt was gone :eek: and there is only 1/4 is still there. if the belt goes out before i make it home will it do any damage to the car driving it about 15 miles with no power steerig belt?
