The other day when i was heading back to college, my car would build boost up and then it would drop and then build back up...what the hell is that? and also my car seems to have ALOT of road noise or something. Some guy said i need to replace the bearings in the wheels and some other crap. I dont know what it is but id like to fix it if possible.. Im mainly worried about the boost. It normally does 16psi. :talon:

i am having somewhat of the same problem. my boost is fine but when i accelerate i hear ir weird sound like almos the soud that would come out of a mussle car. i though it was a wheel bearing but my friend said he thinks it air and this made me think it could be a problem with my down pipe. but i rely dont know much so i am also looking for help :dsm:

A boost leak test would be a good start. As for the road noise, you need to be more specific. ie. Where it's comming from.....etc.

the "road" noise is coming from the rear driver side and as for the boost leak... how do i do it?

www.vfaq.com and look for "boost leak tester". you basically make a pipe with a capped end with a valve stem in it and put it on youre turbo inlet, then hook up the valve to a compressor and pressurize it to around 15-20 psi(or whatever you boost at).

Is it like karbon said, noise changes with vehicle speed?

Wheel bearings dont always "squeal". Mine made a howling noise like I had 35" superswampers on my ride. It made all kinds of interior parts vibrate and rattle. Dont let that go for too long. You'll regret it. And yea I agree with the oldman, You got a boost leak It could be leaking at you intercooler, mine does.

Hmmmm.... Could it possibly be the huge freaking gap between our windows and the side of the door. What the heck was mitsubishi thinking. "Hey what if we make the car sound like the windows are always rolled down...Wouldn't that be cool"
