Starter Problem

I have an '89' Mitsu mirage (4g61t originally) with a '91' awd 4g63t swap in it. My tranmission and everything bolted right in and mounted up fine. My starter doesn't make contact with the fly wheel and I don't understand why, can someone please help me?

Are you using the AWD flywheel?

Yes, I'm using the AWD flywheel do I need a 2wd drive fly wheel?

What is your transmission model?

I don't have that in front of me but it is front wheel drive and is identicle to the dsm 1g front wheel drive 5spd tranny.

you may have to use the flywheel that goes with your FWD transmission, it may have a different depth than the AWD that is compensated for in the bellhousing. Starter should be the same though.

THANKS! i'LL PICK UP A FWD FLY WHEEL IT HAS A DIFFERENT PART NUMBER AS THE AWD FLY WHEEL. I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THAT.
