Well I talked the mechanic that re-did my balance shaft and told him the b-shaft might not be alinged properly but he said the b-shaft was done by a computer and there is no way its off ...He said he has no clue why my engine sounds like crap after 4000 rpms but he will ook it over agian...Anything else that would make the engine sound so bad after about 4000rpms..I do have a leak in the exhaust manifold damn mani studs..The heater and temp guage problem..I guess the lines were frezzing cause there wasnt enough coolant so I did a coolant flush It fixed it mostly but it still happens for a minute Sometimes..I started to notice thru my rear view mirror that when my car boosted there was some but little smoke can onlynotice if trying to see it...Turbo is new and boosts fine THANX for your help everyone Besides the engine sounding so bad at 4k the car is doing very good :thumb: :dsm:

No wonder it's off because the only way to tell if the balance shaft is out of alinment is to MANUALLY check it and the b-belt has NOTHING to do with the rear balance shaft alignment. The main timing will look like its correct to a computer device since the timing marks 'seem' like its pointing in the right direction. I was told the same thing a long time ago when i didn't know anything about these cars, and I ended up spinning a balance shaft bearin in my old 7bolt. It wasn't pretty. The mechanic insisted it was on time even though the engine vibrated and didnt sound right above 3500 rpms. You should check it yourself or have someone help you since thats vital to be aligned. Simply have someone line up all the timing marks, then unbolt the 14mm bolt at the bottom-back of the block. This bolt gives access to the rear balance shaft. If all the timing marks are in line, you should be able to stick a screwdriver or pen in this hole and have it go all the way in. If the timing marks look correct and the screwdriver/pen only goes in a small bit, then it's definetly out of phase. Get it checked to be 100% sure before its too late. Or just do the balance shaft mod LOL.

Arguing with the mechanic he says there no way that you can align the b-shaft by hand IT HAS to be done by computer ...What should I tell him excatly to explain the b-shaft being out of alignment

Havent looked yet but where is this 14mm bolt on the back of the block..Is it preety easy to find
