I have searched all over and can't find out where the starter is located. I need to replace it and i cant seem to find it. If someone could please try to explain where is it located and maybe post a picture of where it is that would be very helpful. thank you in advance. :dsm:

looking at the engine from the front of the car it is on the back under the intake plenium.
Just follow the where the engine and transmission meet and you will see it.

i still cant seem to find it, is it located under the intake manifold in the back of the engine bay, or is it even visible from the top of the car? maybe someone could point an arrow to the location of where it is in my engine bay.

stand at the passenger side of your car directly over the engine. Reach out with your left hand to touch the transmission. You should be within inches of it as it is mounted in back of your trans. Follow the power wires.

it's under the intake manifold - the starter itself is 2 cylinders - one big one and one smaller one on the side. it also has brass colored parts on it. it's also held on by 2 bolts that go into it from the transmission side.

that's about as basic as i can describe it.

Yea I found it today, I had a starter problem too. Except I pulled mine off with my bare hands. Only one of the long ass bolts was there and it wasn't even tight and one of the 3 gears was missing  I thought I was done fixing shit on this car. Oh well this should put me over the $3000 mark for parts and labor on this. Anyone know what one of these runs. Its not the main starter part that has all the wire hookups its the one behind it.

Two hours and $90 later I finally got the starter replaced. It was a pain, but fortunately I had a lot of help:)!! Thanks everyone for you advice and help! It saved me four bills!!

Get under the car and look directly up. Right before the CAT there is a boot, look directly above that and you should see the starter. MIt is nestled in there nicely. :dsm:

Good Luck!
