I've posted this question before, and someone said to adjust the BISS. Well, i got around to doing that, and it did nothing for the idle... I backed it WAYYY out, and still no change.
The idle is running about 2k rpm when fully warmed up, when cold, its higher.
It didnt idle that way all at once, it progressed that way over a few days, to a week.
I checked for boost/vac leaks, and found 1. it was a vac line that goes on the backside of the TB, it had a little split in it, and no change for the idle.
A few days later i found another, it was a line that goes to a little sylenoid on the firewall. Its black, has the Mitsu logo, and has a connector with 2 wires going to it. there seems to be another right beside it, and it looks just the same. It is on the firewall, on the driver side of the engine compartment, behind the intake manifold.
A line had come off of it. I put it back on, but nope, still no change for the idle.
i checked the throttle linkage, not the problem...
another note - my car is just running 1 fan right now, the passenger side fan is off right now due to the 16g install kits hard intercooler pipe. i havnt got a slimfan yet. so, with my car idling (2k rpm) with the a/c on, it will heat up after a while. well, as the temp guage goes north, the idle goes south... it seems like the hotter, the lower the idle. it will go down to like 1500rpm, when the datalogger is showing like 235 degrees.
Is there anything i can check on my datalogger to help diagnose this?
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
-Tim

My car did this as well for some reason but I fixed it by resetting the ECU. Just took the negative terminal from the battery and let it sit for a few hours. Also, I read in my handy-dandy Chilton's manual that you can't just back it in/out. There's something you have to ground or something. Sorry I don't recall off the top of my head. Good luck and keep us up to date. :thumb:

When you say you cant just back it in/out, what are you talking about? The BISS? i will try resetting my ecu. i'll leave the battery disconnected overnight. I cant for the life of me figure it out...

you have to tighten down the BISS screw to get your RPM's down. mine was around 1500K and i tightened it down a little and now i'm at 800 steady with no probs. :thumb:
