Eclipse STU STUUU STUUttERING please help!!!

ok here it is. i already have a N/T talon but i am looking at buying a turbo car. i found one i really like but it needs some work. the guy says it is studdering and backfiring and alot at 5000rmp. he thinks it might be a missing, but he hasn't had the time to really get into it. so what i was thinkin is, get the car and change out the coil pack and wires from my talon to the eclipse. to see if it would work then. other then that, what else could cause studdering in a motor. i mean i really think it is ignition if it is studdering, backfiring. the only other thing that i could think of is the timming might be off but im just not possitive. im not that firmillar with eclipse motors. do you think before i buy it that it could be anything serious and alot of money. so please any suggestions??

Have the code pulled. If it was a random misfire, another possibility is the power transistor unit. It was on mine and I was able to finally fix it.

boost leaks not that i no of. but that would just cause a loose of power right??? it wouldn't cause the motor to studder, would it?
